Andreas Tsiartas(* 1986 in Limassol/Cyprus) From 1999 until 2006, Andreas Tsiartas received soloist education in piano byDr. Nefen Michaelides in Limassol, Cyprus. In November 2001 he was awarded the second prize in the third category at EPTA-Cyprus piano competition. In 2004 he was awarded the Diploma ABRSM in Piano Performing (DipABRSM). From 2003 until 2006, he received composition and orchestration lessons by Maciej Zoltowsky, conductor of the State Orchestra of Cyprus (2003-2005). He has also received composition lessons by Krassimir Taskov, Dmitri Smirnov, Edwin Roxburgh. From September 2006 he continues his studies at the Hochschule für Musik ‘Carl Maria von Weber’ in Dresden, Germany, in the class of Prof. Jörg Herchet (Composition), Prof. Wilfried Krätschmar (Musiktheorie) and Michael Flade (Electronic Music). In July 2006 the Greek-Austrian chamber ensemble ‘Kamerata Polyzoides’ performed his work ‘Sextet for piano and string instruments’ in the Concert hall of the Professional music School Dr. Nefen Michaelides in Limassol, Cyprus. In May 2007 he was an active participant at the seminar-tribute to British composer, ‘Ernst von Siemens 2007 award’ recipient, Brian Ferneyhough, by performing works of the composer, as well as attending his composition’s lesson. In July 2007 the Dresden Philharmonic orchestra (Dresdner Philharmonie) in collaboration with the Dresdner Jugendsinfonieorchester, premiered his orchestral work ‘Prosevhi (Prayer)’ with conductor Milko Kersten. From January 2007 he is an extraordinary member of the professional group of composers in GEMA as well as a member of the German Composers Association. Tsiartas' works include: “Concertino for piano and orchestra”, “Four Archaic Cypriot Voices” for choir and four solo female voices, “Paraesthisis ” for solo violoncello, “Klythi…Méné…Électris” for solo piano, “Ek Thalassis” for Soprano and ensemble based on 3 poems by Konstantinos Kavafis, “Floga” for orchestra a.o. >>> Homepage >>> Repertory
